I replaced it with a Dyson Big Ball. Light weight, powerful, versatile, realitively quiet compared to the Kirby. Jumped 50 years in suck it up technology.
Time to say farewell. My Kirby Omega vacuum cleaner made between 1973 and 1976 still works. It needs a power cord, brush and the motor whines an ear piercing squeal. The motor is almost done. I got it in 1987 a year before I met my current girlfriend from a friend in Honolulu who owed me money. Wow!

Show me the flat spot looking north west at 9800' above sea level from Hamilton Mesa across the Pecos River valley towards the Sanger De Cristo mountains at Truchas Peak. You are correct, most Americans have no clue about the topography and ecosystems here.
