An idea id had for a redemption arc was his mother survived childbirth and taught him empathy for people who don’t look like him. I always imagined he would be closer with his mother Lia than his father Leo #ocs #writing #parents

Much as I want him to be a better person due to the peace we’ve made inside my head, the truth is the redemption arc idea and backstory is a weaker story than the one I originally came up with

I had intended him to be a reflection of real-world human evils, and how men like him don’t see others as people, just playthings or tools. There’s a nice simplicity that comes with a villain like that #oc #writing #villains

I can make it be a case of “it’s not who’s a good person it’s who’s your favorite human trafficker”. I talk about him like he’s a real person, and on some level he is to me, but he’s also a character. Both things are true #writing #oc #villain #redemptionarc
