I had forgotten about the scene in "The Wind in the Willows" in which Mole, Rat, and Badger confront Toad about his obsession with recklessly driving fast cars. It's not _like_ a present-day planned intervention with a coked-up friend. It very much _is_ that scene. Poop poop!
They're about to take down the 10th avenue giant pigeon statue. This is the only thing associated with the High Line that I have ever unreservedly liked. Happy trails, pigeon dude.
It's depressing that the "Principles for Teaching" section in my university's newly published "Faculty Roles and Expectations" guide is an excrescence of vapid corporate jargon.
