Thomas Hardy originally wanted to use this artwork for the cover of DSOM. It now appears on an album called “Space” by Martin Kennedy and All India Radio. They did a cover of Set the Controls…
Positively stellar sunset today. One positive moment from the high heat and humidity. #Photography #sunset
Big ugly delay. I urge all who question why it was signed into law a year ago, to read the descriptions of when elements will take effect. Trump plays politics with peoples lives and livelihoods. #TrumpSucks
It’s raining! Highly unusual for July, but not unheard of. Now, for a few days it will be humid and muggy. Then we’ll go back to dry and sunny until Super El Niño appears in October.
This was in the men’s room at our local library. I had to think for a moment, “am I in the right room?” (Yes, I was)
Same hardware. A blowup&cropped segment taken 1m from leaf, then blown up shows how much detail is in the lens. I could not see the tiny silk threads going from leaf points until I looked closer at the blow up. I've had the lens for 2 yrs, but only recently began to look closer at what it can do
This is a Palo Verde tree flower. It is the state tree of Arizona, and one seriously beautiful piece of nature when in bloom. This image is a D780 with a 105mm F/1.4 lens θ82. 1/200 sec, f/8 exp, iso100 The detail through the lens is incredible. Downside is incredibly heavy. #photography #floral
The Gavin Newsom parody account is run by a staffer, Camille. She is hysterical.
This is the used battery drop off in our local library. It has not been picked up for 3 weeks. The librarian says it usually happens once a week. They must be on vacation.
Two images of the same flower for your perusal. The 1st is with a 24-85 F2.8-4, 1/400 @ F5.6 The 2nd is with a 105F1.4, 1/500 @ F5.6 Which shot of the Pussy Paw is better? #macro #photography
I love the detail of the Gravenstein apple leaf. The intricate pathways that show up with back lighting is amazing, to me. #macro #photography
Walking on Fulton Street in SF today, after a visit to the De Young Museum to see Monet and Venice, we spotted Yoda guarding a pot of succulents.
On the southbound 101 in Burlingame. Of course we honked. Downside was a severe slowdown in traffic speed.
Mag6 is pretty big. I didn’t feel it, but a hanging plant was swaying a little.
Show of hands, how many of my many friends and followers can empathize with this?
A very, very well fed raccoon just wandering around the Music Concourse in #GoldenGatePark. Dozens of people all over the place. I wonder if it liked the reggae being played?
This is one of the biggest beast trucks imaginable sitting in a handicapped parking place. The guy who came out of the grocery store and got in was not even close to being handicapped.
I miss this little Nokia, with the S30 operating system. For a while, that OS was on more devices than PC and Mac combined. This device had 4GB of music storage AND an FM radio using the headphone cord as the antenna. I could listen to NPR on my bicycle as I rode home from work.
