Blue dot in a sea of red. Mom of an amazing autistic daughter. Human trying to stay hopeful not delusional.
Inclusion matters. Thank you to the Sikeston Jaycees for partnering with the Kenny Roger’s Children’s Center to give our kids a chance to participate in and enjoy the rodeo. The stick pony barrel race was our favorite part and even though we didn’t pet the animals, we enjoyed meeting them!
My autistic daughter has been saying “fire truck” for 3 days. So I reached out to our station and they invited us to come visit. She had so much fun inspecting their gear, wearing their helmets (which are SUPER heavy) and checking out their rigs. So much happy stimming. Thank you first responders!
Something very soothing about completing this. For a moment all was well. Is that nostalgia?
Received this email from my rep yesterday. The blatant hypocrisy is really astounding.
Inclusion matters. Thanks to her phenomenal teachers and paras my autistic daughter was able to participate in and enjoy a trip to the bowling alley. All it took was patience and the right tools.
My autistic daughter graduated kindergarten tonight. She has exceeded all of our expectations and knocked her goals out of the park. I am one proud momma!
First image my autistic daughter has painted. Up until now it’s always been experimenting with the brush strokes and amount of paint. But now she’s painted an actual image
I cannot express what this photo shows. My nonverbal 5 year old autistic daughter (who is not physically affectionate) is holding my hand because she saw me crying. My heart may actually explode. I can’t believe I actually got this photo.
Just walked in and found my daughter’s current set up. Something about lining her toys up has always made her very happy.
