It's very easy to access on keyboards. The em-dash has been used in writing for decades, not indicative of AI usage. Even if they're using the Windows keyboard they very well may just remember the alt code, I use them all the time when writing and that spills into DMs sometimes.

I'm just furious, honestly. DCS can get clapped with these comments. "Oh they would've just killed somebody else who wasn't trans" doesn't absolve this from being a hate crime when one of the participants clearly wanted to kill her for some transphobic reasons.
