Not saying this is a reasonable explanation by Hassett, but people may not know that public school districts often lay off a certain number of teachers each spring “just in case,” but then usually hire them back over the summer when they know what their needs will be for the new school year
I would still like a normally sized martini. I just don’t drink one every single night after work like my grandpa did (much as that sometimes sounds like a good idea).
I obviously want all of the accountability as well, but people need to prepare themselves for Tr*mp to veto every single thing Dems try. Even if they take both houses, nothing major will be able to happen until they have the executive branch, too.
If anyone needs a good recipe for hurricanes and/or king cake for Mardi Gras, lmk! Cannot promise authenticity, but I can promise deliciousness.
I am excited to report that we are going to be the full-bar house this Halloween! 🎃
The very first thing Nancy Rogers said to us in her Theory Pedagogy I class was “It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been teaching—the first class meeting is always nerve-wracking.” It stuck with me ever since. If Nancy was nervous, it’s OK for me to be, too!
People of Bluesky are asking for non-political posts, so here is a photo of our precious Hugo (West Highland Terrier, 10 months old).
Again, could we not have had more coverage like this *before* the election? It’s rage inducing.
Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #465,117! I had no idea I was within the first half million 🤷🏻♂️
The media’s treatment of the race is insane. “GOP push to simplify platform” vs. “one-foot-in-the-grave Biden couldn’t possibly be president” (even though he already is). No mention in the GOP headline of their fascist plans. They are helping Tr*mp and will take down democracy with them.
Not that I don’t enjoy my job (most of the time), but “become an orthodontist” comes directly to mind when thinking about my finances.
Me when it’s projected to be 62° in NW Ohio in the beginning of February:
