I'm not watching the Rumble (and I haven't really been watching WWE in a long while) but this caught my attention about them still being really shit to their female talent. Even the smallest, cheapeast dance or theatre troupe pays for costume changes/alterations. The Fed can't? Please. #wrestling

One of those latecomers was a 46-year-old documentary filmmaker named Chad Knutson. On the morning after Good was killed, he was at home with his two hound dogs, watching a live feed from the Whipple Building, where ICE is based, a five-minute drive from his house. A protester had laid a rose on a makeshift memorial to Good. As Knutson watched, an ICE agent took the rose, put it in his lapel, and then mockingly gave it to a female ICE agent. They both laughed.

This little Duck Duck Go marketing campaign both affirms my belief that people really hate AI, and does very little to reassure me that DuckDuckGo (like every major tech company) can be trusted to make the right decisions about it. "Just skip past it" bullshit. Maybe don't put it in.

I think it says a tremendous amount about how TIME decided to put 8 people extolling the supposed virtues of AI as their "person" of the year in an image that is a clear usurpation of the original.

The Mechanical Turk, also known as the "Automaton Chess Player" or "the Turk", was a chess-playing machine, first displayed in 1770, which appeared to be able to play a strong game of chess autonomously, but whose pieces were in reality moved via levers and magnets by a chess master hidden in the machine's lower cavity. The machine was toured and exhibited for 84 years as an automaton, and continued giving occasional exhibitions until 1854, when it was destroyed in a fire. In 1857, an article published by the owner's son revealed that it was an elaborate hoax, a fact suspected by some but never fully explained while the machine still existed. The profoundly useless impact of AI. This is a visual graph of my blog's view traffic over 12 years. 1 is my highest 'daily' hit, 2500 related to a very detailed political post. 2 is where AI scrapers started indexing my blog. 3 is the day after ChatGPT5 was released. Fuck AI.
