I got a photo of the famous BONER 4EVER graffiti in Philadelphia last week. (My daughter took a picture of the other side of the building's 4EVER BONER.)
My son, me, and my dad, starting out early in the morning to drive to Hamilton Ontario for an airshow. We got there a day early, and wandered into the hangar just as they were engine-testing a WW2 AVRO Lancaster 4-engine bomber. I can still hear it.
New podcast episode: The Greatest Beer Bar You've Never Heard Of! Sabatini's of Exeter PA (near Wilkes-Barre) is frankly amazing. Today, for example, there are 4 different Chimays on draft. Pizza's damned good too. Listen to the interview, read the ALT text! www.podbean.com/eas/pb-k5yu8...
Had dinner with our son and future daughter-in-law. 51 days till the wedding! (It was a really good dinner, too; Stina, in Philadelphia.)
If I feel similar to Michael Jackson at all, it's because I probably have more "fame" as a whiskey writer, but when the chips are down, I'd just as soon have a beer.
A special podcast announcement: the new episode will be a week late. Give a listen to it, because it includes "What I'm Drinking Today" and it's this Belgian beauty. Plus a little bit more information, and some fun. See you next week on Seen Through A Glass! www.podbean.com/eas/pb-c8p4c...
WASP pilot Libby Gardner. Her NYT obit at age 90: "WASP aviator during WWII, brave and caring social justice activist, writer, computer programmer, autodidact with a vast range of curiosities and pursuits. Loved by daughter Eve, brother Robert, and many others whose lives she touched."
For the patriots who want to be all historical and "Yay America!" on the 4th of July...Love ya. Me too. But the image on the RIGHT, "We the People"? Not the Declaration of Independence. That's on the left. You've posted an image of the Constitution. Also important; but not the 4th of July.
Have you considered the excellent English single malts (yes, English) vs. tequila? Much more even match.
Beautiful. Love dirt roads. Here's one I drove last week in Pennsylvania.
Great new podcast episode, featuring Mike Hermann, founder of @purplelizardmaps.bsky.social, the fantastic, beautiful outdoor recreation maps. We talk about PA's underrated outdoor recreation, the map philosophy, & the possibility of a Philly Purple Lizard map. www.podbean.com/eas/pb-em5m5...
From all I've read, the Haitians here on TPS (& the few Haitians in America I've met) are good workers, who've added to their communities. Maybe all they need is good government, and man, I know that feeling. Megyn really hates them because they're freed slaves. THAT'S their "culture and values."
I've seen several "NO WEAPONS ALLOWED" signs recently at restaurants in Pennsylvania. Is this related?
As a naval history geek, I'm gonna go to any pub named Dreadnought, even if it sucks. Though it sounds like this one doesn't. BTW...are there any Edinburgh pubs with "monkey" in the name? I also go to them.
Howie Mandel and "Deal Or No Deal" are suddenly shockingly relevant. Maybe Howie should start a new show, "MOU And No Deal."
DISRESPECT BAD POLITICIANS. Spread the word, spread the idea. Be a hero of disrespect, like Juli Briskman!
Had a political banner made and hung it today. Ray Bilger is the Democratic candidate for PA's 15th District, running to unseat the incumbent election denier, Glenn "GT" Thompson. GT won the last 5 terms with about 70% of the vote each time. Uphill fight? Yes, but you gotta fight to win!
We don’t usually see each other’s headers. Here’s mine. Quote-skeet with yours (if you feel like it)
February 2009. One of many games Obama attended. I don't remember this kind of bullshit.
Is Trump's name still on the Kennedy Center? (Photo taken this morning, according to ABC News.) Judge says it has to come down by Friday. Tick tock, people.
It's Moonshine Day, and I've got a historical Seen Through A Glass podcast episode for it! Prince Farrington was central PA's most famous moonshiner. Give a listen, and have a sip: first ya swaller, then ya holler! www.podbean.com/eas/pb-x4g2p...
