Home ownership: I need to mow the yard today before it gets too hot. I *did* say I wanted to mow my own yard & not pay a condo fee to do it, so here we are. We still have lots of boxes to unpack but waiting for the basement situation to be dealt with before moving stuff down there

Today in #ALALeftBehind - we attended #BerkleyPride 🏳️‍🌈, tested the sprinkler system that came with our house, and celebrated my father in law’s 82nd birthday 🎂🎈🎉 with strawberry shortcake 🍰

Taking Barnaby on one last campus walk while Kate supervises the movers emptying our faculty housing of the last five years.

Our 1st homeowner project is mostly done. We painted the fireplace from a gross salmon color to a more charcoal-y color. We have been taping and priming the walls elsewhere in the house, as well as lining up vendors to do projects like boosting attic insulation and refinishing the hardwood floors.

Happy @lego-group.bsky.social birthday to me! My wifey got me a couple sets, plus a matching bow tie and pocket square, for my 50th today. Tonight we’re going out to dinner. May be a while before I build the castle, since I only build the architectural sets of places I’ve actually been too!
