Hey, you know what I love? Physical media. Anyway, first time playing OG God of War.
(Sees movie about how the masculine ego and weight of it is a prison, where every woman character acts as a compass to help guide the protagonist emotionally, psychologically and physically home to what matters most): ah yes, this is about traditional masculinity being good and women are evil.
I tried to condense this into a post, but I couldn’t. The more I think about The Odyssey, the more I talk about it, the more thoughts I have, and the more it becomes even more a masterpiece. Fuck I’m so glad this is good.
The thing about Tenet is that it is Nolan completely embracing his boisterous dumb guy tendencies in his kinda pretentious way, but then he’ll drop the most affirming call to action to push through the feeling of inevitable demise. It rocks man…

A filmmaker who is damn good at his job makes a movie about journalists who were damn good at their jobs with actors who are damn good at their jobs. That’s not the only reason I love this, but surmises part of it!
Picked up some classics (mostly blind spots) that all got new releases today.
Well I just went to my local Village Cinema and found it, so I dunno why they’re having so much trouble that there’s an entire film about it!

The Invite is biting, stressful, hilarious, raw and immaculate. Wilde builds a powder keg of repression and marital stuntedness, capturing the overflow of seething resentment and rage with such electricity and empathy at once. Rogan and Wilde maybe at career bests? I loved this.
Had a little cinema slump, but I am completely back in full force for the next month (and beyond with MIFF on the horizon). Anyway, back and ready for Wilde’s new effort, and I am genuinely excited! Now seated for The Invite
I should not have spent money, but once I realised Imprint’s release of Bound was out (the only Wachowski I’ve not seen), I was done for.
