moved some things around + added two plants to each tank n here we have them!!

a ten gallon horizontal tank with an angled front glass plane to provide better visibility. the water is cloudy due to a bacteria bloom which is normal in this part of the cycle

the substrate is fluval stratum on top of black aqua soil so it looks like little brown dirt pellets mixed in sand

there’s a giant driftwood piece to the right that has a natural little cave when laid on its side. it has a patch of moss on the very top

there’s a hallow sterculia pod in front of it in the front right corner. behind it is red ludwigia and then a lily like species of anubias. on the side of it to the right is java fern and african water fern that each flank the cave entrance with a cardinal plant in front.

on the right side of the driftwood is a giant rotala that has spread across the top, in front of it is a dwarf pink lily on the bulb, another anubias species, and bucephalandra brownie on a screen. there’s a barely visible heater and sponge filter on the back right corner at the top

a ten gallon vertical tank with red shale substrate and a large driftwood piece along the back with a hole in the center to provide a swim through area.

behind the driftwood to the right is a bolbitis heteroclita plant that slightly covers the heater. directly in front of it is red wentii, java fern, and green cryptocorne. in front of the driftwood to the left is hygrophila corymbosa as well as a small sponge filter. in the front center is anubias congensis, frazeri, and barteri as well as african water fern. there’s a bucephalandra brownie plant on a screen in the front right corner.

the hygrophila and the anubias frazeri are both visibly struggling but should do better with the reorganization of plants

in the upper front right hand corner is a betta leaf hammock

one of my goals is to build a plant paludarium using this big ole tank. i’d have timed lights and a water recycler that pulls from the tank at the bottom and creates a mister/rain fall drip at the top for the plants along the wall. i’d use the back piece for herbs n have shrimp at the bottom!!
