Poet & author of the novel LOVE & OTHER INCURABLE AILMENTS, coming 10-2026. I write for anyone who’s ever felt like too much & not enough in the same breath.
I love the fact that as we age, women no longer have to worry about what they wear so much. My late mother said things like “That woman is too old to have long hair like that,” or “Cher should start dressing her age.” Wear what you want. Love what you wear. Love who you are.
A different kind of love story: She found 30 discarded love letters. She traveled 900 miles to find the stranger who wrote them. She didn’t expect to find herself instead.
Knee surgery went well. I feel woozy as hell. I was pleased the staff knew which knee was being repaired (meniscus)
I’m not sure “Liver” is the only thing that needs attention.
Thanks to Kristin Bair, an author I greatly admire, for being an early reader and writing this lovely blurb for my novel.
Jeez, we have men crawling all over the place today. Critter Control fixing the outside to keep the bats out. Also, ADT is updating our security system. I'm holed up in my writing studio trying to put on a happy face. All I hear is drilling and banging.
With Grok? Maybe a “historical” porn flick? Why is this a threat? I have so many questions
I just noticed how happy my husband’s clothing tree looks today.
I want to make seashell themed cookies for my book release, so I used refrigerator cookie dough and Betty Crocker icing, and now I keep tasting them to see if they’re still as crappy as they tasted an hour ago. They are. Meanwhile I’m sure I gained a couple pounds…
I remade this rather shapeless dress into a skirt and bolero jacket. I’m much happier with it now! I also learned how to make bias tape— I used a batik fabric! That was fun. #garmentsewing
Some days we are ergonomic. Other days we are one unexpected movement away from total collapse.
The air in Michigan smells like a hippie campfire and looks like an LSD haze.
Hey, look at this, my lovely book is on the carousel on Women Fiction Writers Association!! There’s still that part of me who gets so excited— like, it’s really happening! LOVE AND OTHER INCURABLE AILMENTS is coming 10/27!
It’s hot out. You deserve a treat. What will to have? Me: Häagen-Dazs butter pecan ice cream with Saunder’s chocolate sauce and pecans.
Or let’s hope someone finally convinces you-know-who to eat salad.
Rose Horowitch says in The Atlantic that “the age of reading has ended.” I don’t believe it. Check out booktok on TikTok —the community of readers and reviewers sharing books is overwhelming. I mean, I can’t keep up! Same with Instagram. Even Substack has a ton of reader accounts.
“I love when Mom gets on the floor to play with me. I think I’ll go sit on her head.” #corgisky

The best part of playing fetch inside with Cowboy is that when we take a break and I lie on the floor, he likes to cuddle up with me and put his head on my neck or my chest. I love it. It doesn’t like to play catch outside much. He gets distracted.
