Morning Cathy and SORCS. Slow start but already done my morning exercises. Went to Lidl yesterday morning and the shelves were pretty empty. I think a lot of supermarkets had warehouses in the fire area. The big boy was good for the farrier yesterday.

Morning all. Weird weather last night (photo). 33 degrees at 10.30, hazy and with an orange moon, but air felt stifling. Smoke is back but only because wind changed directions, as fire is gradually getting under control. A 137km fire break 100m wide has been constructed..quite an achievement.

Morning CiF and ORCs. Lovely day in Arcachon yesterday meeting my old school friend. We will keep in touch. Arcachon was packed, hot, pretty. Would go back out of season. In the background all day was the trace of a forest fire that is still out of control.

Good morning all. OH went out v early to do some long mountain bike event with some other old blokes. I stayed here but was up early, fed horses and did a workout. Bliss. Now to breakfast. Lovely clouds this morning.

Good morning. Early start to beat the heat. This is what happened to my courgettes and cucumbers after a week away! Evil plants! Pumpkins have gone mad as well. Getting lots of laughs from The battle of the counts. ( Binface and Frogface).

Morning all. I thought I posted earlier but don't think it went through. Another hot day. Cleaning fairy coming, got to wash horses hooves this morning. Got to find a recipe to use up the monster courgettes that were waiting for me when I got back from holiday. Courgettes are evil plants@

Morning all. Glorious morning. If I was a morning person I would already be out enjoying it before it gets too hot. We went for a walk yesterday to stretch our legs. The Aneto trail run had over 500 participants. The winner ran up and down 4 mountain in about 8 hours!

Morning ORCs, morning Cathy. 38km bike ride with 1457m of climbing yesterday to top of Superbagneres. Feeling rather tired so rest day today and Tour de France is starting! The climb up to Superbagneres was one of the most beautiful rides, well worth the pain.

Morning Cats and ORCS. 12 degrees outside here, but sunny. Lovely bike ride yesterday. Gypsey's owner had to get the emergency vet out yesterday. Did think we might have another Gordon moment for a while but vet thought Gypsey had pneumonia and he seems to be responding to antibiotics. Fingers 🤞

Morning Cathy and ORCs. Better nights sleep last night as was tired after bike ride. Legs feel like they saw some action yesterday! We've finally managed to cool down the apartment to a comfortable temperature. With the window open I sleep to the sound of the river in the valley below.

Morning Ben, Morning all. Thick cloud at 900m and a comfortable 14 degrees. Still didn't sleep well though. Was greeted by this early dawn chorus around 5.30. The sparrows joined in later.

Happy summer solstice to you all. Far too hot here for comfort so today will be spent mostly indoors. My ageing body does not seem to tolerate the heat as well as it used to. France has banned all alcohol sales during le fete de la musique today. Fortunately we celebrated Friday evening.

Morning SORCs and od. We had a similar experience with the collared dove before dawn! When I woke up this morning these little white egrets were following the horses around. Have a lovely Sunday.

Thursday already! Week has flown by because we were away. Bike ride was nice. 60k a day for 2 consecutive days definitely found our limits and our bed was very welcome this morning. Raining this morning.

Morning all..fortunately we are managing to keep house cool enough by opening windows overnight and closing shutters during the day. Yesterday was bath day for Smokie, before the farrier arrived. He loved it. Must have made him feel so good. Stay cool 😎.

Morning SORCs. Pool opened yesterday. Only a bit green. This rather long video is of 6 Canadairs (half the French fleet) lining up over our field for their morning practice run yesterday.

Morning Cathy and ORCs. I can't claim credit for this picture but it's of the Canadair planes practicing on our nearby lake. Yesterday afternoon they used our field to line up before they dipped down below the trees to fill up. They did 3 runs. There are 12 Canadairs in France.

Morning all. This morning started slowly and with paracetamol, as stiff after a day of organising the planters. We got through approximately 200 litres of potting compost. Saw this little chap tucking into the mountain Laurel. Cleaning fairy coming later as we both forgot that today is a holiday!

Morning all. Sunny here too. Bike ride planned if knee holds up. And tonight we're off to the favourite eating place before we head home tomorrow. I too cannot wait to get back to my familiar bed. A little video from yesterday's ride.

Good morning all. AG passed off successfully and quickly with no major arguments. We now have a new managing agent who seem to have moved into the modern age. Hopefully no more registered snail mail and travelling 4 hours for a meeting. Sunny day today, gentle bike ride planned.

I'm still in bed but today is the follow on AGM of our apartment block, after the last one all but ended in a fight! We had a small earthquake overnight. I woke to hear my water bottle rattling in the early hours. Yesterday evening the deer came close for an evening snack. Happy Wednesday everyone.

Morning Clare and fellow ORCs. Torrential rain on our drive down yesterday but fortunately we were able to unpack in-between showers. Misty and damp today so may go to Spain for lunch and ⛽️. Stopped at a place called Ile de Noe yesterday for a three course lunch for 17 euros.

Hope concrete delivery lives up to expectations! Fortunately the rain held off just long enough for us to enjoy our village lunch. Usual organised chaos but went well. Driving down to apartment this morning. A few pictures from yesterday.

This was yesterday. Golden Orioles are a fairly common sound here but rarely see them. Looking out the window a couple of days ago I saw a large green woodpecker striding across the grass! Have a good Wednesday everyone.

Morning all. Bit stiff this morning after pilates and gardening. Only managed to get the potatoes in..very late but we will see. Some years I plant earlier but then they get rot, so maybe later is better. Little patch of what I think are tongue orchids in the field.
