Has anyone said anything about how Cisco just straight up copied the logo for Greater Toronto’s Go Transit for their Duo two factor authentication system?
I guess there really is evidence that in some cases getting outside and exercising can help improve one’s mental health.
I just showed the Kid “There She Is!!”, he thought it was cute. Somehow it came out 21 years ago.
The air is hazy and everything smells like a campfire. Thinking Giant Dog and I will skip the walk this morning.
Current view from the Mackinac Bridge Cam on the St. Ignace side, where the Air Quality Index is currently 230, considered “Very Unhealthy” or “Chunky Style”. You can kind of tell there’s a bridge there somewhere. www.mackinacbridge.org/fares-traffi...
According to the company, Hochi has “terrible fashion sense”, a “poorly proportioned body” and is “poor at housekeeping”, and girl: same. Apparently she’s being replaced by Peppo, a blandly cute chick who “hatched from a spicy egg” laid by Hochi and who lacks her undeniable charisma.
So what’s the deal with the Buldak ramen mascot? Is that a cast? Did she hurt her foot or something? *searches* Okay, her name is Hochi, and she wears a single sock to cover a mole on her foot. Now I just have more questions.
In the Winnie the Pooh stories, Eeyore eats thistles not because he likes being miserable (well, not *just* because that), but because donkeys apparently do really like eating thistles. If anyone has a donkey I can borrow, I’ve got a garden full of the spiky stuff I need to clear.
A campground I spent the night at once on Isle Royale is currently closed because a wolf has been strolling off with campers’ stuff. Bears do this all the time, but wolves are secretive enough that them doing it makes the news. It’s like finding JD Salinger rummaging through your trash.
NGL, I’d be tempted by a rugby jersey with Bandit on it, even if he looks kind of off model, but why would he be on a Sydney Roosters jersey? He didn’t dye his fur maroon in The Decider to show up on a NSW team’s kit. Should be Lucky’s Mom on there.
The Century is considered Toyota’s flagship luxury car. I was curious if you could get old models in the US under the 25 year rule, and you can, but most of the ones I found seem to be hearses or whatever this is (probably also a hearse). I think I found my new daily driver.
I miss the days when you could count on nonsensical products having been created by hardworking human non-English speakers rather than AI generated slop.
It’s nice to see that neon pink leg warmers haven’t gone entirely out of style.
Jojo the Jewel Osco Grocery Monster wishes everyone a happy Independence Day.
Wishing a happy 159th anniversary of Confederation to our neighbors in Canada, or as the Québécois call it, “le pays des ours”.
There’s a YouTube channel called Maine Coon Adventures where a guy in Sweden offers different foods to his majestic ass cat, who in the three videos I’ve watched so far always rejects them. The cat looks strikingly like Ron Perlman in the ‘80s series Beauty and the Beast.
My most old curmudgeon opinion is that search engines should just be grep for all the web pages. I had vague memories of a segment on Zoom or something called “What Happens Next” that tried to teach kids about causality. I searched for that text string and Google reassured me that I’d figure it out.
Discovered while doing yard work this weekend: we have wild strawberries growing outside our fence. Not sure why the resident bunnies haven’t gone after them yet, but they’re right next to a fairly busy street so I’m going to assume the bunnies have the right idea.
I don’t read much noir detective stuff, but this had a compelling setting & interesting characters You probably already know if this sounds like something you’d enjoy. Sadly the Agent P style fedora on the cover art is an artistic choice and not something the raccoon detective actually wears.
Just finished Green City Wars by Adrian Tchaikovsky. It’s a solarpunk noir novel set in a sustainable utopian European city where everything is maintained by uplifted animals. The protagonist is an uplifted raccoon who’s left his employer/creators to become a private investigator. I enjoyed it.
If you’ve got something you’d like to say, the village of Glenview IL has just the place for you. I don’t know what inspired this and if the park where they have their farmers market is a hotbed of dissent, but regardless of context the concept of designated free speech zones feels funny/dystopian.
Congratulations to the dry cleaner alterations and repairs window decal person on her transition.
An illustration from a display of air fresheners I saw at the supermarket. The round glasses with no visible eyes behind them makes it look like Scott McCloud’s cartoon avatar from Understanding Comics has sort of given up.
A local big box pet store is processing the Chicago Bears’ planned relocation to Northwest Indiana by putting Bears branded pet collars on clearance.
