cover of laura thalassa’s ‘death.’ i wish i hadn’t waited so long between the third book and this one, the novelty of the series definitely waned and i didn’t enjoy this one as much. still a fun romantacy read, imo.

cover of sapir englard’s ‘her wolf.’ i actually had a lot more fun reading this than i thought i would. it took a minute to get going, but was interesting once it did. i’m likely to finish the series at some point.

on a hot streak with my book choices recently, this one was so fun ✨

cover of deborah harkness’s ‘a discovery of witches,’ the first in her ‘all souls trilogy.’ yet another surprisingly fantastic read, it gets a 4.5/5 from me. magic, creatures, alchemy, history, romance, mystery… i look forward to reading the next book in the trilogy and more of harkness’s work in general.

‘death,’ here i come

cover of laura thalassa’s ‘famine,’ which i give a solid 4/5. i will admit, i was fully prepared to enjoy this less than the second book in the series if it continued to be as violent as ‘war’ was, but this won me over and i enjoyed my time with it. i’ll be getting my hands on the fourth and final book in the series soon.

absolutely in love with v. e. schwab’s writing in this book, my lord is it beautiful. 5/5, a vampire story i personally cannot wait to revisit.

first ever blind date with a book was ‘the unworthy’

cover of augustina bazterrica’s ‘the unworthy,’ a solid 3/5 for me. trust me, it is written beautifully and artistically, but something about the overall tale and it’s composition didn’t work for me. glad i read it, but it’s nothing i’ll revisit.

cover of emily brontë’s ‘wuthering heights,’ the dk classics edition. this was my first time reading ‘wuthering,’ and the first classic i’ve read in a long while, and i am completely smitten with it and emily’s writing. i cannot wait to experience this story again; this shall be a permanent resident on my bookshelf. 5/5, will read again, am absolutely smitten with the style and setting and ambience.
