I saw a video today where they had sprayed, like, Great Stuff spray foam into cracks on one of the cornices of the miniature arc to keep it from falling down, and even that job was shoddy. I found pictures in a Daily Beast article…

New photographs taken by Reuters on Wednesday show serious cracks in the new molding added to the replica arch. Yellow material that looks like polyurethane expanding foam, which is used to fill cracks, is oozing out of the structure.

But I do have good news! I saw an eagle flying over the golf course last week, reminding me of the eagle I saw while biking a couple weeks ago. Swung by today to see if it is still sitting in the treetop in the cornfield. I’ll be damned. He’s still there. I have a new neighbor.

We have a solo sandhill crane hanging in the pond off my deck. I feel sad because it’s alone. It’s taking a bath currently.

The New Salem High School athletic teams boast the name "Holsteins" as a tribute to the area's dairy industry.

Prince Night at Target Field. We got very nice, purple varsity jackets with the Prince symbol on the back. When the rain delay began, we took the opportunity to buy a fancy Prince jacket for a relative and leave. Great game; great giveaway!

I had to zoom to, like, 40x, but there was an EAGLE sitting atop a dead tree in the middle of a cornfield not far from my home. I have never before seen an eagle in this part of the state. So cool!

I meditated first thing and changed my routine — got up later, showered immediately, ate breakfast (not a breakfast eater customarily), and went straight to work. My car was the hardest. My car was my last refuge. Once I quit, I ordered this as a gift. And now you know where the $23k went. 😉

I think this is my favorite little guy from yesterday’s trip to the Art Institute of Chicago.

Some kind of naked centaur with a mask of a Greek philosopher or something. I didn’t read the description. I just really liked this little guy. He has big, deep, round eye holes; an oversized nose; bushy eyebrows; bald on top but lots of hair over his pointed ears; a beard of ringlets hanging from his jawline; and, last but not least, a hand extruding from his open mouth as if to say STOP.

I did a mindfulness smoking cessation class. The Since I Quit app was recommended in the class. I recorded the info in the app after my final cigarette. It’s been tracking ever since. CONGRATULATIONS ON DAY 25! There will come a day where you marvel at how easy it is not to smoke.

I quit smoking. I quit on the 12th of May, 2018 at 23:45. Each day this used to cost me around $8. On average I was smoking 15 cigarettes a day.
