How to keep your motivation if you’re writing a 15,000 word dissertation in a heatwave: get your documents to cheer you on 😀
More cleansing for the timeline… Super hot day but the cooling strategy of “dunk your hat in the river” worked very well x
Multi-Tasking. A mixed media piece featuring Belgium v Senegal (TV), this graphic novel (paper, ink, sweat, dreams) and a glass of red (not shown).
I am somewhat overcome with emotion. My team did a thing. 😭😍😀😭😍😀😭😍😀
When the 1956 noir movie you’re watching makes clear that it’s directed by Stanley Kubrick… (It’s been a while since I had a Noir Night… turns out I missed it!)
Back in Bristol. Glad that this graffiti gem is still here in the year of our lord 2026…
Seahawks victory ceremony - from the King 5 online coverage. Kid in a candy store John Schneider, rock star AJ Barner and the spirit of Seattle, Ernest Jones. 😀😀😀💚💚💙💙
Marlene Dietrich in Morocco (1930). Just radiating out of the scteen, equal parts swagger and softness (well, maybe 60/40 on the swagger). 😍

Here’s some London snow from last weekend. We now have Somerset snow too ⛄️ I can highly recommend the Electric Dreams exhibition at the Tate Modern and the F1 exhibition at Excel, if you’re in the Big Smoke any time soon 😀
Gina Lollobrigida and Jennifer Jones this evening… (Beat the Devil, dir. John Huston, 1953, a film where absolutely everyone is hustling…)
And for balance, here’s Gregory Peck… (the glow is a lamp here, sorry, Alf!)
Just a little Alida Valli moment for you… (from The Paradine Case, 1947, dir. Alfred Hitchcock)
This was Thursday. My beloved Bellatrix bandmates and I took the stage at the Cheese and Grain, Frome (the bar stage, not the main stage, not quite yet) and played a bunch of rowdy angry girl songs. Thanks to all who came to boogie 💕💕
Hello, new people!! Gosh, there are quite a few of you… here’s a random photo of a moody side street in Rome, to promote your creative imaginings or your holiday longings. Also pictured, the best pizza I’ve ever had (Pompei, 2024)
I spent most of today staring at a computer, some rooftops and a lame attempt at snow. As none of those were particularly stimulating for the old visual cortex, here’s a picture of some tiramisu. You’re welcome.
