I am so fucking fed up with these “local historic preservationists and neighborhood advocates.” When they aren’t blocking housing development like the entitled NIMBYs that they are, they’re leaving us strapped with pointless money pits like Memorial Coliseum. Everyone needs to ignore these clowns.

The first line of this shot of @bickly.bsky.social’s DC (which is very good, btw) is pretty much why I could never vote for Kylie here, I’m afraid. No matter how well executed, “paint-by-numbers pop” is just never going to stack up to talented musicians doing interesting things.
I’ve said this about a couple of others (Lateralus being the most prominent). I might agree with you here were it not for Del the Funky Homosapien, who absolutely elevates this album.

In contrast to yesterday, which featured two albums I’ve liked for 25 years, today features two albums that I’ve not liked for 25 years. But Toxicity is the only one that makes me physically recoil. So Detroit Cobras by default it is, I guess.
In my DC, I said I wouldn’t directly speak ill of Tool, but I see @onetrueposter.bsky.social’s doing it. So ima copy his lead. I’ve said this about others, but this Tool album would have been so much better as an instrumental. They could learn from EitS. Look at this shit, lol. Lmao even.

Here’s a guy who wants to criminalize abortions using…uhhh…14th amendment homicide laws? He also really hates queer folks, but wants to provide free college and socialized, government-run apartments to eliminate landlords. 🤷🏻♂️
But the most fun part about the Voters’ Pamphlet are the statements from the kooks. Usually, these come from Republican candidates, but sometimes there’s some wacky Green Party candidates and independents too. Here’s one from the King of Russia who has a lot to say about his proud heritage:

It’s Voters’ Pamphlet Day in Oregon! My favorite unofficial holiday. For those who don’t know, every candidate and ballot measure proponent (or opponent) has an opportunity to pay a nominal fee to publish an argument that goes out to every Oregon household.
