Hi! I’m Eric. I love comics & other geeky things. I make podcasts: Comic books, The Gutters (personal journal), The Legion Project (Legion v3), & Center Seat (Star Trek).
I read Wonder Woman v2 19 (I have to catch up for @sean42az.bsky.social’s Peace Bound and Down WW podcast) and noticed this bit from Circe. Is this story the inspiration for Absolute #WonderWoman?!
Reading Wonder Woman v2 18 & came across this “Bonus Book”. Say what now? Turns out, with one exception at that time that I’d forgotten (Flash v2 12), I missed out on these try-out extras. Now I kinda want to get all the issues that had these bonus stories.
Sundowners was an unexpected pleasure! I wish I hadn’t waited 10 years to read it.
Finished last month reading Quests Aside and Mom’s Cancer. There’s more in common between these two comic books than you’d think.
I’ve been looking for Chekov’s Enterprise for years. It’s out of print & ridiculously priced on eBay last time I checked. I found this copy at a thrift store for $1!
Well, Absolute Green Arrow 1 was surprising. I didn’t think I’d like it at all, but focusing on Dinah was a smart move. The eliticide was a nice extra. 😁
My younger daughter made this for me. Happy day to all the fathers out there.
I can only imagine how much fun @ryannorth.ca, Carratù, Blee, & Carramagna had showing Hulk break a supermassive black hole. This is such a fun comic book.
I powered through Free Planet v1. I loved Vittorio Astone’s colors, but good god!, let the artists breathe! I get there’s world building to be done, but there were too many caption boxes. Everything felt cramped. Go read The Forged instead.
Finally read Rocketfellers 1-6. It’s fun! Time travel, weird science, family drama — it seems to have it all. I will be getting v2.
Beautiful work by RAFAEL DE LATORRE & MARCELO MAIOLO (Fury of Firestorm 2)
It’s USA military #rugby vs the British military at Starfire Stadium! Under a PNW rainbow.
I finally! read the DC event, Genesis. I don’t know what everyone’s problem was with … No. No, you were so correct. 😆 I liked the cover art, mostly. 🤷 There is a reason it’s at the bottom of the DCOCD event list: www.waitingfordoom.com/dcocd-ladder...
Lilith was a bit too bloody for my taste, but I do appreciate Howell’s art and jokes. Sahadewa’s use of red & black works well for this comic book.
Whomever approved that itty bitty white text over a red background should rethink their life choices…
16 years later, I’ve finally read Joe the Barbarian. My LCS dude, Matt, gave me issue 1 to try. I’m sure I read it? But I got the trade and have finished this wonderful and beautifully illustrated adventure!
