another example of a classical application of datalog that takes many more lines to implement in an imperative language. it's slightly more verbose but still compact in comparison.

as primitive and annoyingly invasive as LLMs were, i wonder if their emergence helped to cover the gaps of expertise that the eminently creative silent generation left behind as they went, just long enough so that generation z could pick up the pieces and rebuild the living bridge of understanding between us all.
