Jayce (narration): Time is hard to keep track of when you're dimension-hopping. Impossible, really.

Narration: But I know it's been about two years here, and that's the longest we've settled in one place. (Well- with some diversions.)

(Jayce is working on a horse's hooves. In the barn window, a young woman leans in with her elbows on the wall.)

Jayce: Uh... I'm not sure. Maybe? I can ask.

Jayce (Narration): There's a lot we had to learn about this place.

(A rooftop shot of the village, followed by several scenes of people going about their daily life.)

Narration: The culture, (a child riding on the back of a horse tries to steal an apple from an older man), the dialects (two children speaking indistinctly to their mother, holding onto her dress), the food... (a dish of bread, stew, and dumplings).

Narration: I found work. Well, a hobby, more or less.
(Jayce at the forge, wearing a black apron. He holds up a horseshoe and wipes the sweat from his brow.

Narration: Viktor did, too - and more than just one.

(Viktor looking down at something, pulling off his goggles. A wider shot reveals that he's constructed a waterwheel.)

(Viktor and Jayce hauling stuff back and forth. Viktor is making multiple trips while Jayce is slow and steady, watching him scurry back and forth with fondness. He closes his eyes, breathing heavily with the strain of carrying a box.)

(Viktor suddenly stops in front of Jayce, putting his hands on the box Jayce is carrying)

Viktor: Here, let me take that.
Jayce: Leave me something to do, V!

(Jayce pats him on the head, smiling, then kisses him on the temple.)

Narration: I worry about him still. I probably always will... But I know that goes both ways. I'm just happy he's happy.
