Spent a night in Houston over the weekend for work. Went 2 for 2 in my limited time away from the convention center.
Was about to compare last night’s let down to when we got trounced at Kentucky after beating Louisville on the road in 2006. Looked it up, and uh, we actually only lost by 14?? Felt like we lost by 100.

JB ran over and gave my son and his buddy high fives a few seasons ago before a preseason game. My son’s buddy was so thrilled, he literally puked 5 min later. Might be my favorite basketball moment of the past decade.
My wife decided to take in a foster pup from Puerto Rico while I was away this weekend. Her name is now Coco (Coqui), and she’s ours forever.
The boy has his first ever overnight hoop tourney this weekend which involves a team dinner at the biggest “Smorgasboard” in the country. He has no idea that his life is about to change forever.
Remember my old man bringing me to Portsmouth to watch him hoop in a street ball league when I was little. League is still going, honestly loaded with talent. College, prep, and olds. Pretty special phenomenon. Laced up for Father’s Day… can still go. Off me.
I also let him show his class the 2014 Championship ring. One kid said “yeah, but Steph Curry has 5.”
Lotta people have a lot of opinions about Sonny, but damn, Pam and him have been so good to my family. They just sent me a pic of this letter from my dad that they’ve held onto since 1998. Sonny let my dad ref at ABCD Camp that summer with the Big East officials. Fuck.
The best part of the 2014 Spurs championship was when my brother took the Larry O’Brien trophy to different parks we grew up playing at unannounced and let whoever happened to be there enjoy it.
