Aaand the PHON graffiti suddenly appearing in Wattle Park 🤮 Thankfully staff have removed some of the most visible examples, but this one on the shed next to the oval is still there.
Mr dog @firstdogonthemoon.bsky.social commenting on supermarket surveillance and, with no. 4, possibly showing he’s read Little Brother by @doctorow.pluralistic.net ?
Feeling heartened by @chrishaughton.bsky.social ‘s newsletter this morning, highlighting the need for direct action to interrupt a genocide and providing links to organisers, researchers, and information. Heroes among us 🫶🏽
“How do we refresh our faith in humanity? …people who still speak up for many injustices, these people are refreshing our faith in humans, in humanity, in ourselves. … we are selfless, beautiful creatures.” @ecetemelkuran.bsky.social to @chrishedges.skystack.xyz
Headline in Aus is slightly different: ‘Israeli army chief says West Bank troops ‘killing like we haven’t killed since 1967’’ Both headlines highlight conduct I would have thought obviously breaking International Humanitarian Law - apartheid and systemic state murder. Do governments condemn this?
In the Jewish Council’s call for allies to unite with them against antisemitism, racism & gun violence, they include this devastating summary of some of the depraved politics of the last week. The political binfire has robbed communities of their ability to grieve. Thankful for the Jewish Council 🙏🏽
I set up a shop with Das T-Shirt Automat with the designs I made for gifts this year. ‘Sushi to go’ is available on a range of colours with both adult and youth sizing. In case you’re looking to support artists with your gift-giving this year, you might find some ideas here: morgan.dasautomat.com
A reminder that the land was never ceded. The generous offer of the #ulurustatementoftheheart still stands. ulurustatement.org/the-statemen...
If you’re in Melbourne, please come and check out this, Early Morning (at the bus stop), and other works in the ‘View Askew’ group show at the Fitzroy Public Gallery, opening night this Friday 4 July at 6pm - there’ll be drinks and snacks and art!
The two books I have on the go collide with @sarahthefirth.bsky.social ‘s questioning about why she wears stripes and Pastoureau’s book on the history of stripes.
Reading @sarahthefirth.bsky.social ‘s book ‘Eventually Everything Connects’ and this panel makes me think… in the background IRL my washing machine is running a cleaning cycle with vinegar. What does self-cleaning really mean? 🫣
Last night I dreamed my house was full of huntsmen spiders in pants, like this. Some had orange pants. But who made them pants with elastic leg holes? Who put the pants on them? Is it just a coincidence that ‘huntsmans in pants’ rhymes with ‘husbands who dance’?
