Gecqua is certainly based on a tokay gecko which are blue geckos with spots in Indonesia, and tbh that’s about all I’ve got for it. It could have some relation to palm oil given it’s a liquid and this is a water type but idk. They have Balinese folklore but it doesn’t seem relevant. Any ideas?
Pombon is an orange fire dog, Indonesia has a wild dog called an ajak, which are also orange. There’s some folklore about an Anjing Ajak which is like a werewolf but an ajak. I think Pombon will become an Anjing Ajak. Also Indonesia has a ritual where they burn rice paddies after harvest Rice ajak
I have a theory Browt is called the Bean Chick Pokémon so we know it’s a chicken. The region is probs based on Indonesia, which has a chicken that is fully black, and Browt has a black underside. What else is black? Coffee. And coffee beans look like Browt’s eyebrows when sprouting Coffee chicken
