The little house next door to my former house in Cincinnati is for sale. I spent years tracking the seasons looking at the front garden through my kitchen window. I hope the new owner likes cats. (cc @csvich.bsky.social: I have so many cat photos from this yard!) www.redfin.com/OH/Cincinnat...
Slow going today. About 1/4 of the way there. Each of these clips on this nested timeline is a multicam sequence with 2-3 cameras... so first I edited each of those multicam tracks to pick the best shots, and now I'm editing them into the final cut.
So on The Luminous Dead, my rough cut was from a multicam source of a single performance. Now I'm editing in other takes in a more traditional way. It is less Clever than my strategy on TLC, but perhaps more effective since I don't have to contend with the bug that may or may not still exist.
And rough cut of Act 2 is done! I think the final edit of this half is gonna be a little more complicated, but that's a job for tomorrow.
Rough cut of Act 1 of The Luminous Dead is complete! It's built entirely from footage from the 6/6 performance. There are a couple dozen inserts I want to do with shots from other performances, then final color grading to better match the different cameras. But first onto the rough cut of Act 2!
I'm currently processing footage, and hope to have a rough cut of The Luminous Dead by the end of the week. Wish me luck!

One of the cool challenges in adapting The Luminous Dead is crafting a space that can fully transform under light and projection. Here you can see a moment at Camp 2 where Gyre's suit's reconstruction of the chamber is incomplete. (Photo by scenic designer Sarah Beth Hall).

Making progress on the in helmet lighting system for Gyre. Wireless dmx is working, and the battery lasts longer than 2 hours! This is 12v LED tape at 20%, so I may go down to 5v tape and smaller batteries.
