Finished filets were doused in rest of glaze, topped w/ snipped oregano, parsley & lemon mint on side from my garden. A hybrid of meals I’ve had on Italian, Mexican & Oregon coasts.
After a mother effer of all Murphy’s Law days, it’s down time w/ naan pizza Italian cheese, sliced sausage, diced red & yellow peppers, thin sliced zucchini, w/ chopped basil & parsley from garden & sprinkled w/ feta. My 1st & only meal of the day. Too chaotic messy today battling carpenter ants.
I think I’ve had too much coffee……. (refuge in the cafe from the heat) #SuperNote
Having spent a few hours yesterday with a life-size hadrosaur, exactly how did that Trex deal with the crested head? Not like they had small heads. And that crest! Makes my teeth hust just just looking at it. 😄
Examining the big fella I wondered, ‘Where are his ears?’ Finally found them & wondered about this spp hearing levels. Was vision & olfactory their main sensory perception? (Can you find the ear opening on its head?) 2/2
New addition to Museum of the Earth (Ithaca, NY: life-size hadrosaurid created Dino, Velafrons coahuilensis, from the late Cretaceous. It was constructed by RIT graduating student & donated to MOE. Was erected a few weeks ago. Very colorful! 1/2
Introducing the odd “Ice Cone” cabbage, a personal-sized mini for solo consumers. It made a large mixing bowl of coleslaw w/ chopped carrots, diced broccoli, clipped fresh chives, parsley & cilantro, sprinkled w/ dill seed, dill weed, & marjoram. Added dash of ground dried garlic & pinch of salt.
Reminds me of the posters in every room representing periods of geological time in Museum of the Earth (my fav hangout).
“A Theory of Everything” Nothing exists by itself. Even the Universe. One theory of “every thing” is like saying God exists.
Especially “Dog Days, Raven Nights”, Marzluff’s intro to the corvid world in Maine, alongside renown biologist Bernd Heinrich. 2/2
OMG This reminds me of an old (favorite) Farside comic: (which also applies to the quote in post bc it's so effing true)
Most of it, for several decades. Raised sheep in OR ( for wool & meet) in 1990’s. Also do fiber felting. Grizzly head won award at exhibition. I’m retired now. I like to ‘play’. 😁
Another recommendation: "Life as No One Knows It" Sara Imari Walker, (astrobiologist/physicist) She asks (the) hard questions. 😏 @saraimari.bsky.social (Yes, I'm alternately reading her's & Lane's books)
What’s for Dinner? Naan pizzas: tomato sauce, mixed Italian cheese, diced red peppers, sliced zucchini, broccoli florets, diced chicken, dried cranberries, feta cheese, thyme, rosemary, basil, mint, ground garlic.
This is perfect!!! It would have been taped to my office door. 🤨 Thanks, @tomgauld.bsky.social
Nice shot!! Most owls are very inquisitive. Had the memorable pleasure of a GH owl nestling in its white fuzziness repeatedly peeping & popping up through a crevasse in a ledge. Was doing crane surveys but this little one was enjoyably distracting.
