RIP Randolph Mantooth I came into Emergency a little late in life, but fell so hard for Johnny and Roy. I really loved him on this Love Boat episode with Robert Mandan. It was Mandan vs Mantooth, and it was sublime. I adore them both. So sad.
RIP Louise Lasser. A unique and quirky talent who always delighted, especially in the small screen proto-slasher Isn't it Shocking.

There are so many actresses that I love and admire and miss, but none so much as Valerie Harper who proved she was more than a second fiddle sitcom actress. I've been revisiting her TV movie career, and it is absolutely incredible. What a legacy.
Invasion of Privacy is not a perfect film (and was strangely enough marketed as a thriller), but I love how Harper's character refuses to blame herself for the incident. It really sets a tone that few films of this kind did back then, and likely spoke to many of us when we first saw it
Invasion of Privacy aired almost a decade after A Case of Rape, continuing the conversation, this time emphasizing that a sexually active woman is not "asking for it," and Harper says, "I have the right to chose, and the right to reject."

This feels safely non-spoilery... Seeing this on a video essay I commissioned for one of my first producing projects has been so ridiculously satisfying. Iconoscope is working on several great things, and I'm so pleased to a part of it.
