In memory of #SamNeill. This was shared in one of my groups but there's no attribution so I cannot thank the human who wrote it personally, but here I say THANK YOU and thank you Sam. You will live on in our hearts and memories, forever gracing our screens.

🌿 For Sam Neill

A quiet grace walked with him—
through orchards, film sets, open fields,
a man who held the world gently,
as though every moment deserved
a slower breath,
a kinder gaze.

He moved like old sunlight,
never demanding the sky’s attention,
yet somehow brightening it—
steadfast, wry,
a storyteller who understood
that truth lives in small things:
a shared laugh,
a glass raised,
a life tended like a garden.

From distant islands to global screens,
he carried home within him—
the humility of earth,
the humour of a man who knew
that fame is only weather,
but character is climate.

Today the world feels quieter.
Not empty—
just softened,
as though it is pausing
to remember a man
who gave us wonder
without ever needing applause.

May his journey onward
be peaceful,
and may the stories he left behind
continue to walk beside us—
steady, human,
and beautifully his.

i woke up this morning and rubbed my eyes,
still tired and fumbling,around the house.
fer
stumbled beside me."not now', i said
am barely even awake. this is not the time."
i made a quick breakfast and hurried out the
door. grief followed along. i turned around
and said, "not now, they cannot see me crying.
i busied myself all day until i finally had
some time to rest. i fell onto the chesterfield,
glad to have a minute to myself. grief whispered
in my ear again. not now P. said can't
you
see how much P. need this?" SO grief sat right
down beside me instead. not a single word.
no quiet breath. she just sat there on the next
cushion. P felt her but P. did not want to look.
in a monent of curiosity, glanced over at her
presence. hands folded politely. flowers in her
hair. her skin soft and delicate. she must have
noticed my confusion. I know she said, 'not now.
it's okay Ì said. " "it's Just, P. didn't expect

you to look like that." "like what?". "beautiful
gentle, full of grace. and to think, i pushed
you away all day." grief looked at me with tender
eyes and said, "you just hadn't seen me dressed
as love yet.

I'm making CD/DVD suncatchers. Went to the opshop for a big stack of used ones. This was among them. No, I didn't play it - it was too damaged. I have so many questions.

An obligate carnivore is an animal that relies entirely on meat for its nutritional

And just like that, she's gone. My dear sweet little Puss girl. Kidneys failed, ultrasound showed liver mass. Vet said they couldn't save her and so I held another fur baby as she was put to forever sleep. I'm just broken. 💔😭 #RIP

This is how my books begin. An old pile of manuscripts - pages saved from the fire that destroyed my home so long ago. Snips of ideas.A pastel portrait of my son & his pet guineapig that someone labelled AI slop, although it was drawn in 1999 & hangs on my wall. My writing stems from this - my life.

Bottom image is a pastel drawing I did of my young son with his first guinea pig. That inspired the novella 'MiniPig & Me'. Again not AI slop, although I have been accused of using AI to create that image. Bit difficult when I drew it before AI even existed and it hangs on my wall.
These things inspire me to write stories.
My art inspires me to dream.

Today was my last chest scan.Not sure how I feel about that.June sees oncology/surgery discharging me,almost 5 years since 1st diagnosis.Unsure how I feel about that either. Hoping the last scan is clear, but I have no control over that, so here's to a wonderful weekend, a wet cold winter, and life.
