Today is Starbuck's birthday -- he's 13 years old! My beautiful little neurotic dandylion, he was barely as big as my husband's hand when we adopted him. When we were getting his puppy boosters, a vet tech said he had the Face of Essential Dogginess. ^_^
Today Teddy, my Maltipoo, turns 14 years old! He's my most faithful shadow, since he was 11 months old. He's blind in one eye now, but gets around mostly well. Just wants to be where I am. He's my heart.
Happy Birthday, Twins!! Today our Maltipoo twins Sasha and Michonne turned 11 years old! These are the liveliest, happiest senior pups on earth! Love ya, girls!
I'm a little late with this. Gypsy's birthday is Mar. 1st. She's 12 years old now. It would have been Merlin's birthday, too. I really miss him, but it's good to have Gypsy to celebrate. She's a Chihuahua-Terrier mix, but acts full Chihuahua, and will defend me to the death. All 9 lbs. of her.
Today is Sugarfoot's 17th birthday! She was adopted when she was 10 months old, & she's only now starting to slow down a little, but she'd still going strong. She's a Chihuahua-Terrier mix, with all the energy that implies. I hope she has many more birthdays coming up!
Merlin passed away, just before midnight. I held him for hours before he peacefully went; I'm all cried out, knowing what was coming. I hope he's running free beyond the Rainbow Bridge, free from the illness that plagued him over the last two years. Wait for me, my bestest boy. I'll be there.
Merlin went blind at 8, at 9 he was diagnosed with hypothyroid disease. He's 11, & may be slowing down. He's not eating & he's been at the vet's all day. We're waiting for the results of his blood test, but the vet isn't hopeful. I hope they find something we can treat. I'm not ready to let him go.
Our hearts are heavy as we say good-bye to a member of our family. Pippin passed away this morning. She was 15 years old. I'll miss you, sweet girl. 'Til we meet again...

Happy Birthday, Swan! Yesterday was Swan's First Birthday! She got an extra biscuit & we all sang happy birthday. Swan is a French Bulldog mix, & I still don't have any good pictures of her, but this one will do. (Ignore the swollen girl bits -- she was in her first -- & hopefully last -- Heat.)
Happy Birthday, Starbuck!! Today Starbuck turns 12 years old! We adopted him when he was a tiny 8 week old butterball. He has more issues than NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, and was dubbed by a vet tech as having the face of essential doggyness! We love him so much!!
Pippin is 15 years old today!! We adopted her at 1 1/2 years old, and it took her 5 years for her to let us pick her up without drama. She'd come to us, touch us, then retreat when we tried to pick her up. Now, she's a regular love bug. Happy Birthday, little girl -- may you have many more!
Yesterday my Teddy Bear turned 13 years old. He's the happiest, bestest boy, and my complete shadow. From the moment we adopted him when he was 10 1/2 months old, he was MY dog. And I am so lucky.
The Twins -- Michonne and Sasha -- turn 10 years old today!! They are the most enthusiastic doggos you'll ever meet, and they've never met a stranger. Happy Birthday, girls!
Today my Tennessee twins turn 11 years old! Gypsy is every bit as sassy as ever. Merlin is doing the best he can, with his blindness and low thyroid. He's still happy, engaged, and devoted to his mama (me!)
Today Sugarfoot turns 16 years old!! I adopted her and her late brother Boomer when they were only 10 months old, and she's still going strong. She has a mild heart murmur, but is otherwise sound and happy. She's a total velcro dog, and my dear friend.
Beautiful work. I'm sorry for your loss -- He reminds me of our Willow we lost so long ago.
Today Yuki turns 14 years old! She's one of the happiest little dogs in the pack, very vocal with her growls and yaps, keeping all of us in line. Happy birthday, sweet girl!
