armed with will and determination, and grace, too. 40something encouragement auntie of conscience. mobilian. lawyer. doing my best. joy in the face of horrors. you can do this. "we are concern, we are hope despite the times." - R.E.M.
this is the most severe violation of the "have a 12yo boy vet your marketing choices and if he giggles bin it" rule i have ever seen irl
every time i hear this song now, i think about their set at bourbon and beyond last year, when chris carrabba said "we're so excited to sing this song with you" as he introduced it. it for some reason touched me very deeply to hear someone be so generous with their niche-y legacy like that.
ooooh yours are gorgeous! mine are kinda mid, but i'm choosing to blame it on the fact that it was acting weird and could not find any locations in new jersey anywhere near my actual birthplace. may try again later.
when you remember day of that a) the flight tomorrow leaves from MSY, not MOB; b) the beloved booked a hotel; and c) tori freaking amos is in town? stubhub. KILLER seats CHEAP on like 2hrs notice. tori straddled a piano bench so florence can scream, as i told my 32yo witchy-girl coworker.
us: ok time to run our errands and get moving for the day storm: lol u thought
ok not to be earnest on main, but this made me a little emotional. i said on the 4th of july that the folks we met abroad treated us like beloved friends in an abusive relationship. it's the damn governments that are the problem. most people are pretty nice actually.
we toured the actual waterford facility last summer and saw it in person. it's gorgeous, and it's hand-etched by a team of amazingly talented young irish men with tragic hair.
so we tried it. for science. it's not insulting to BBQ bc it bears no relationship to anything calling itself BBQ. at all. it's just... honestly, without the sauce, the weird onions, and the salad mix, it would be a solid burger, but those things are the point. meh.
last night abroad, enjoying 18+hrs of sunlight a day by sitting in the park at 9:20 at night listening to elvis costello sing. does not suck.
last afternoon in ireland - spent it on the high street buying books and CDs posts from 1997, except i didn't have ireland money in 1997
i didn't get a pic of one outside the fences, but there were so many sheep along the ring of kerry on these twisty narrow roads.
