You see what changed and what stayed the same. Your technique, your interests, your perspective, etc. It's also a good motivator since progress is not notable until you compare it with what you made before. (artwork from 2016, 2023, respectively)
It's a common thing I keep seeing with artists just being very cagey about their old art. They often describe it as cringe or something they want to get away from. Anyways here's some 2016 art.
