I grew this Christmas cactus from cuttings my doctor gave me in 1993. Thirty years and numerous repottings later, it flourishes.

The Detroit Institute of Arts has a version of this paintin. It's displayed next to Copley's study for one of the people in the painting. I love this portrait with much love.

The first Kehinde Wiley painting I saw.

Obama Appreciation Day (Pass it on. Do your part!) When Barack Obama campaigned in Detroit in September 2008, I stood in line for 2 hours to get into Hart Plaza where he gave a speech. I didn't get close enough to hear him, but thanks to my zoom lens I could at least see him.

What's a line of delivery you'll never forget?
