Love working in higher education. Have rescued dogs and cats (almost all from abusive situations). Philadelphia is my home (yes, I say "wudder"). Geek, instructor, techie & accessibility advocate. Democrat. Will not follow you if all you have are reposts.
We have a rescue we named Winifred too!! She wishes her fellow namesake cool places to lie in the summer, and a warm bed in the winter. Here she is with Andy, our 16-year old rescue. Winnie is in back.
That awful arch at the awful fair in DC is peeling and falling apart. No surprise; it was cheaply made and Mother Nature is beating the hell out of it. And once again, it is just so symbolic of the disintegrating president. And I know I'm not the only one who sees it and thinks of Spinal Tap.
My dad drew this silly self-caricature when he was in the seminary. Love this drawing. Btw, he was much nicer- looking than this suggests. He's been gone for a while. He and I had a similar sense of humor and we were both early risers who enjoyed quietly reading before breakfast. Miss you, Dad.
They were buddies and hung out on a beat-up loveseat. Our Dane was kept in a too-small cage for years and developed a hunchback. She also had her tail chopped off with a hedge clipper. Despite that she was loving and sweet unless you were an unwelcome visitor. She could be 120 pounds of grrr then.
Of course he didn't put his hand over his heart during the national anthem. The song isn't praising him, so why should he? I hope every boo stung. What a soulless, awful husk of a man.
I love this. Fungus has almost all the answers. And those answers are sometimes offered with a huge flourish.
This was the Orange Felon's idea of a sick burn. Instead, it's a fumbling, sad indictment of the writer: www.msn.com/en-us/tv/new...
Eugene Goodman is my hero. Sending him and the others who stood against a mindless mob all the 💕.
Today I learned of the marabou stork. I'm sure its mom thinks he's just the cuuuuutest little storkie ever, but... Its plumage from the shoulders down is lovely, but seriously, this beats our local turkey vultures for *yeccch* vibes from the neck up. That neck pouch is...disturbing.
We got Chinese takeout and this was in my fortune cookie. Oh please be right, little fortune.
Went for my "squashing" and was told to sign in at the kiosk. Um...nope. I'm in a wheelchair and couldn't see the screens. They also had the "Press to Open Door" button behind two stored wheelchairs. *Sigh* #Accessibility #TrySmarter
So, Judas was in a bowling league? I bet he sold out his team for a little side coin. And how far has Rupert Everett fallen to be in this likely awful Christian movie that I will not watch? Thanks to @anniewu.bsky.social for bringing this to my attention.
These times are so difficult. My old boy Andy sends his support. He's a little clueless but full of love.
What a good doggie! Our Winnie has a note in her file that says, "Sweetest dog ever!" Every vet and tech smiles when Winnie comes in. She's full of love and joy. Rescuers (thesatoproject.org) saved her as a pregnant feral puppy in Puerto Rico. The pic below isn't altered. Everyone--adopt a rescue!
But Fetterman would stand against it, the good little Republican that he is.
He doesn't give a crap anymore if people see how ugly he is. This sick, perverted sack of orange excrescence is slowly imploding and he's trying to take us all with him. He can only drag down those who are clinging to him, though.
In case you weren't aware of our now-replaced Phillies scoreboard (yeah, it's been a bit). Who doesn't enjoy a good poop joke?
More to point out to those delusional idiots who still think Trump is good for the economy.
My sweet loving rescue, Winnie, is wishing you all a lovely Valentine's Day filled with scritches and treats. And a knuckle in the ear; oh yeah, that's the spot. 🐶
Loved the halftime show. So did our beautiful Puerto Rican girl, Winnie. She wears her love in her fur pattern:🇵🇷🇺🇸🏈🎶💃
Andy, our old (between 14-16 years old) boy trotted in, stared at me, let out a long fart, and then stared at me again. Anyone who has a dog knows he just eloquently informed me he had to go outside. And dog owners know I found that adorable, if not a bit smelly.
We're preparing for LOTS of snow (well, for around Philadelphia) and temps that aren't going to help us clear all that snow out. Also preparing for powerouts. We've been through long powerouts before. One where our in-house temp was 42 and I was exhaling breath clouds in our living room!
A part of my job is to train people on various instructional technology tools. I work hard to make the training fun, informative, and interactive. I am happy to do this part of my work, but I have to say unsolicited emails like this warm the cockles of my heart. In part:
Andy (our brindlle) is around 15, though you'd never know it. His companion, Winnie, is around 4. Both rescues from pretty desperate circumstances (he in a Philly basement and she was a feral pup in Puerto Rico), they are a loving team. We are so lucky to have these dogs. ❤️🐕
It is snowing hard here in Philadelphia. Beautiful and meditative to watch it coming down. I am thankful for my mug of chamomile tea with a teensy bit of honey (feel like I'm on the edge of a cold).
CBS News is crap. Bari Weiss and her ilk suck. Their news is 💩 and their leadership is 💩💩. Only two shows I watch: Colbert and Ghosts. I can give up Ghosts, and CBS gave up on Colbert a while ago. I'll watch him until his last show (😢 ) and that'll be it for CBS. Buh-bye.
Girl, you're getting older. Embrace it, instead of looking like a ghoul.
