Okay that matches with my 3/4 inch size (I apologize if this is unnecessary explanation, but generally EPP hexis are labeled with the length of a side not the measurement of the entire hexagon).

Our innocent baby child kitty is a ruthless hunter and it seems our local chipmunk population cannot seem to figure out that there's an apex predator on the patio (she's indoor, but loves the screened in porch)

Possibly my favorite quilt in the whole museum.

My husband and I had the Wonderful opportunity to visit den haag Netherlands and saw Vermeer's girl with a pearl earring portrait in person. It was thrilling! I've always admired quilt art depicting her and I thought I would give it a whirl with the national quilt museums new quilts food challenge. Not only is our foodie girl caught in the act with the last slice of pizza but her entire outfit is composed of food fabric. She is decked out in blueberries, potato chips, popcorn, French fries, and of course, her much beloved pearl onion earrings"

And finally, before we hit the gift shop there was this delightful food themed exhibit. The quilts are contestants in a contest put on by the museum and were wall hanging sized.

I liked very little of the Tula Pink exhibit and I felt that the format really downplayed the impact of the long arm quilting done by Angela Walters.

A quilt made of many different blocks in a rainbow gradient with white sashing. It is elaborately quilted throughout.

A quilt in slightly pastel rainbow shades, mostly of tumbling blocks but also intermixed hexagons with a bold black and white border.

An elaborately quilted piece with a white background and a relatively small "planet" in the center made up of a patchwork of irregular triangles. The quilting creates a scene where the planet is a rocket ship blasting into space.

Quilts from: Latifah Saafir. I actually have pictures of darn near the whole exhibit. It was my favorite.

A quilt with interconnected large scale swirls in reds, greens, and yellow on a background of shades of white.

A quilt divided on the diagonal but not from the corners one side is a white background and the other is a mustard yellow. Across the same angle are triangles made up of smaller triangles in contrasting colors.

The whole quilt is alternating around a of white and yellow background bands of triangles pointing to the sky.

On a dark background there are woven bands of color

These two struck me, the bubble quilt was a complexly pieced design which was complimented by a simple stipple quilting. The second struck me as soon as I turned the corner. The colors are delightful and it has a wonderful sense of movement.

These two are intricately hand quilted and they blew my mind more than a little bit.

A quilt in mostly yellows and greens. Applique blocks surround a round undecorated area and the applique is in a rich stylized floral design with filigree.

I am trying to choose some favorites from my trip to the quilt museum. It's not easy. There were things I did and did not like and there were things I loved looking at, but wasn't inspired by, and there were things I simply wanted be someone who could do that.

A quilt with three vertical panels the outer panels fade from light to dark from the top down and the center fades in the opposite direction. Across the center of all three there is a burst of color that melds them together. The blocks are all roughly 5" and made up of improvised style geometric shapes.

Earlier this week I did a matte manicure and it was looking scuffed up but not chipped so this morning I added a topper from Holy Order of Perpetual Lacquer (Awakening) and a quick dry top coat to refresh it. #indienailpolish

I've had a bag of leftovers from my quilted sneakers sitting around and I finally got around to making a pouch for my earbuds and a coaster out of them. Two useful things and one less bag of bits sitting.

Finished sewing a top this morning. It's the Marilla Walker Nautilus top - wouldn't recommend the pattern if it wasn't free. The way the neckline is patterned is very counterintuitive. #sewsky #garmentsewing
