ᕕ( ᐛ ) ᕗ I draw. Expect surprise German posts. 🍻
Wanted to practice how the face changes when resting on hands or when the jaw shifts.
Two new roses joined the balcony recently. The Lark Ascending and Maurice Utrillo rose. I need to buy pots.
Similarily, the Bienenweide rose I bought online which was labeled as Bienenweide Fruity is actually an ordinary yellow Bienenweide. I guess it is also fine.... >_> But it is funny this has happened twice now.
I have waited two years for what I thought was a white currant bush to bear fruit and turns out the shop had mislabeled them. It is a red currant bush. :| I was so looking forward to white currants again after 25+ years, man.
A little kitsch at the end of Sunday. Used a photo as ref because how do arms work! Good night, yall! #originalcharacters
After wrapping up the watercolor piece, I used the remaining time for a wax pastel sketch from a different angle. #lifedrawing #waxpastel
Plein air watercolor painting of a local spot in the neighborhood. There were two geese honking about and it was very cute. They swam too fast so I did not get to add them to the picture. :P
A watercolor study from last evening. I wanted to get more color blending into e.g. the plains of the face, neck, hair... Next time, I will use reference for the shadows again lol...
Some sketches. Last two pictures were sketched while rewatching "Below" so it has a lot of stark shadow studies.
Doing some watercolor studies. Used a photo ref. My phone camera is not very good... There is a lot of information that gets lost. 🫠
Love the ambient sound design these days. Very immersive. (They are renovating the elevator. I wish them well.)
Watercolor study. Reference was a Sargent painting. Wanted to see what colors are used. It got all over the place pretty fast and looks nothing like the ref anymore but it was fun. 😬
A sketch of Sid from last evening. He was not moving much while inking so I had a good opportunity to draw him. I wanted to use less lines, work more with values, shadow edges. It was fun!
The train ride home last night took way longer but I had some red wine and sketched original characters.
