The Apothecary Museum was also incredibly atmospheric and intriguing, and there's a beautiful little café in one of the 18th-century red wooden buildings, with tables in the courtyard. 🫖🌿 I love it there so much.

Visited my old uni city and second home, Turku, and had one of the loveliest weekends of the summer. :') Did some things I've always wanted to do, like visiting one of the oldest museum sailing ships in Europe (Sigyn, the only surviving ship of her kind ❤️‍🔥). Also watched jousting at the castle. 🏰🐎

I can't even explain how happy it makes me to check out a new nature trail and find all these lovely things, like this beautiful old bridge. 🥹🌿 Its age hasn't been documented anywhere, but if I had to guess, I'd say it likely dates back to the 18th century. ♡

The same museum houses two artworks that I absolutely love, so I had to see them as well while I was there. 🥹 Going forward, I will be covering this scandalous, grotesque nudi*y with little ribbons to make Conserv*tivesky happy. 🎀

Went to a William Morris and Pre-Raphaelite art exhibition with my bestie today. :') The museum also has a lovely garden with blooming jasmine bushes and the prettiest lilies I've seen this summer. 🌺

First visit to my favourite summer café, run by a local garden association.🪻🌿:') All the dishes and baked goods are created by this young chef, who sources almost everything from the surrounding garden, and everything looks and tastes incredible. This is my happy place. 🌸🌱

So I do not know how familiar you all are with the Moomins (bless Tove Jansson, their Finnish creator and one of Finland's first queer icons 💖), but I saw a sad rock in the water today, and it looked very much like the Groke. :(

Summer solstice and last day of Midsummer celebrations.🪻🌿 Went swimming in the lake, ate wild strawberries in the forest, then returned to the cottage and made a layered cake with cream, berry curd, and strawberries. 🍓 Also mixed a blueberry, elderflower, and lime punch with thyme.

Finnish Midsummer celebration, part 1! 🌊🐚🌿 Spent the day on an idyllic island with a beautiful beach and archipelago views. This is exactly what I wanted to experience this midsummer. 🤍 Went wading in the sea, walked in the forest, petted sheep & learned about archipelago Midsummer spells. :')

I've been longing to spend some time by the sea & enjoy maritime Helsinki, so that is what I did today. 🥹 There are so many lovely islands & nature trails by the sea, and I'm going to try and explore more of them this summer. I always end up loving my home city more when I do things like this. 💙🌊🐚

I wore purple for the first time in probably a decade, which is odd considering it's my favourite colour. 🤔 Had to commemorate the occasion! Also, it's Helsinki Day today. My home city was established on June 12th, 1550, so happy 476th birthday, baby. 🪻 The city is full of art and music today. ♡
