We’ve had three sibling juvenile Cooper’s Hawks enjoying our yard the past few days!
Been a bit since I posted, but starting a new job has taken over life and made quilting time harder to come by. Still makin it happen though! Here’s a study of Friendship Star and Snowballs made with @sherrilynnwood.bsky.social and the Improv That Block Squad, always made with T-shirts 🧶 #quiltsky
Ok I would be devastated to find out you never read this book as a child! There’s a similar birb on the back cover that always confused me as a kid 😆
Here’s my beautiful Nancy, gone six years now. Miss those gorgeous green eyes! Don’t miss the cat dirt stuck in her luxurious fur 😹 When you were talking about vet care in London, I wondered why you might be there…. OMG Taskmaster!!!!!!!
My #artistvsartist this year! There were some upcycling and mending projects as well, but mostly t-shirt quilts! 🧶 #quiltsky
It took a year, but I finished! This quilt was made for my friend who experienced a Bipolar 1 break that rocked our world. He’s doing well now, but there are still reverberations from that time. It was a reliable creative object to lean on throughout. More info in alt text about process! 🧶 #quiltsky
I was 16 working at a huge antique mall in the late 90’s when I grabbed these!
Finished this book some time ago, but needed to go crazy with the post-its to feel like I’m ready for the talks! Thanks, @michelleicard.bsky.social, I’m really thankful I discovered this book before I really needed it 😆
Completed my third quilt! It was made during my improvisational quilting studies earlier this year where I used only t-shirts! This one tells an icy Lake Erie story: ice crashing, geese flying, and lake glass tumbling. I gifted it to my daughter on her 11th birthday 🧶 #quiltsky
Saw Amadeus with the Cleveland Orchestra playing the score and it was 🤩 even made my husband some Nipples of Venus to enjoy that night!
I attended an upcycling event where we made ourselves a “blue ribbon” mine was to celebrate one year living in a new city!
Feeling proud of the quilts I’ve made the past six months in my “Improv That Block” workshop with @sherrilynnwood.bsky.social I couldn’t have imagined I would create these functional pieces of art and now I can’t stop! I used only t-shirts and they are as snuggly as you imagine! 🧶 #quiltsky
Had this little sweetie hanging around our yard for a few days. We named it Albert, cause, you know, the hair! #bird
Here’s my husband as a little guy in the Netherlands! It’s now a casino.
Staining the bathroom sink at home like real punk rock girls. Also I think I was subconsciously inspired by my paint by number when planning out these colors?
All I wanted was the Waldo Stick from my childhood for my birthday. Today I turn 42 and my wish came true.
Hourglass improv complete! This one is an homage to the tie-dye of my teen years and how that doesn’t seem very long ago and also a lifetime ago all at once? Time is weird! Made with only t-shirts from my collection 🧶 #quiltsky
