Good Morning world. These are real, actual, bona fide Maltese rain drops, in July. Almost unheard of. Accompanied by long gentle rumbles of thunder, like I woke up in heaven.
Fierce heat. This is our 10th summer here but the first time we've had a heat warning text from the govt. It makes 'emptying' the old dog who will only pee outside quite a challenge!

Summer here is always humid and hot, usually cloudless for months on end. Today however there is a strong north west wind, it's cool, there are CLOUDS and I saw at least 12 raindrops on my windscreen this morning. Heaven.
I hoped for a quick, quiet, early-ish swim. I got two out of three, bit people soupy... but still lovely!

A firework factory exploded on Malta at 6.30 this morning. No people died, thankfully, but two farmers in nearby fields were hospitalised for shock and there are reports of livestock killed. Lots of blown out windows in houses nearby. Scary way to start the day. Pics courtesy of Times of Malta.
Standard procedure on this island is reserving 'your' parking space with an old chair. Although apparently a pair of shoes works too 😁 NB. I did not place the shoes - or park there!
