What is this fucking thing

Not really sure what to make of this but it's on display at Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen. It looks like functionally it's supposed to be a cornucopia or something but it's so ornate and covered with gold decorations and miniature sculptures and strange-looking architecture that that's the best possible guess I can come up with. The legs meant to keep it upright make it look like some sort of creature. The Danish royals were on some shit, girl.

I'm working on a shader program to graph functions on the complex plane, here are some of my favorite graphics bugs so far:

A mostly white canvas with a black-ish blob in the center with the cyan, magenta, and yellow color channels separated and slightly offset from each other. It's meant to be the graph of y = x^11 - x^8 + x^4 - x^2 + x + 0.5 on the complex plane.

A mostly black canvas with sticks that look somewhat like flames pointe toward the center. It's also based on the same function as the last one.
