I made this print after coming across a 1610 map of Wiltshire that had a great drawing of Stonehenge in one corner. It was really accurate in some ways but also very odd, like a drawing by somebody who had never been to Stonehenge, based on a drawing by somebody who had been in person.
It was a bit wet but there was plenty to see! Eggs for sale, 2 railway crossings, dog roses and oxeye daisies everywhere, medieval tombs and great hassocks in the church, a glimpse of a stately home, a trotting horse, and a pint of ale at with a friendly face at the end! youtube.com/shorts/t9LcC...

Wednesday: I love these little poppy seedheads. They’re so structural and decorative. They remind me of imperial crowns.
I made this new linocut print after a walk on a deliriously hot day recently. I realised how useful church towers can be to orient yourself in the landscape (and to guide you into a village (and the pub)).

This is one of my favourite gates in a road of garages near me. I’m not a painter but if I were one then I’d like to be able to use colour and shape this beautifully.
That was a spooky walk! I very rarely feel uncomfortable on a walk but being surrounded by fog makes everything feel… other. A bit like walking in the dark, you just don’t know what’s out there. youtube.com/shorts/Qa0S_...
Here’s a page from my sketchbook where I planned out the linocut. I love to see the grids and rules people create when making a sign by hand. Often they result in a bit of awkwardness.
