I don't know why drawing horses, and indeed centaurs is seen as such a difficult trope that existed long before the internet. Much like hands, it's the same as drawing everything else - can't go wrong with good reference. Have a centaur/Unicorn in the same piece:

The Biasd Bheulach is a nocturnal shapeshifter: it bore the form of a man, sometimes of a man with only one leg. At other times it appeared like a greyhound or beast, this picture has it as all 3, attacking you from within a thin crevasse.
