My favorite holiday is New Year’s. To usher in the New Year, NHK has a show ゆく年くる年 (Old Year, New Year) at 11:45pm, w/ live shots of temples & shrines in Japan. It is calming & full of reflection for the past year & hope for the new one. Japan is 17 hours ahead of me, the show is at 6:45am.
