A lot of buildings were destroyed. The inside of our house was a mess, but the house itself was okay. Aftershocks keep happening, and every time one hits, We dive under the bed to hide. I hope we can get back to our normal lives soon. Please stay safe and well, everyone.

April 8th is "Kanbutsu-e," which marks Buddha's birthday. It's also known as "Hanamatsuri" (Flower Festival). Mom went to help out at the Flower Festival and brought home lots of cherry blossom “Gyoiko” branches!

Not AI. 御衣黄（Gyoiko）is a double-flowered cherry blossom with green petals. It is a rare variety of cherry blossom even in Japan. Believe it or not, there’s a Gyoiko tree right near our house!
