A quick sketch study, mainly to understand how to handle the jacket. Sometimes these drawings are not about creating a finished piece, but about solving small visual problems before moving forward — fabric, folds, silhouette and attitude.

I’m thinking of drawing my next story just like this… pencils and simple watercolors. There’s something direct in this approach — less polished, maybe, but more alive. A way to keep the energy of the sketch while still building atmosphere. Would you like to see a full story drawn this way?

One thing I often do is lay down a cosmetic color first, so the pencil can react differently on the paper afterward. It helps me build a softer base, catch the graphite in a more interesting way, and give the drawing a warmer mood from the very beginning.
