Just finished this, very small village parish records from their rector of 50 years. As neutral as those records are, the pain and faith that come forward stun. Reading history from a distant POV tells nothing about what people do day to day, and church year to church year.
Looks like the daily lectionary will be John's gospel by early August. Good time to re-read William Temple's commentary. 🕯

I crocheted the outer parts of their beds when they were babies. Long pieces of fabric tied together for the crocheting strands. You can see some of the knots. 😊
