A cotter pin looks like this, you can insert into an opening to clamp together pieces among uhhh thousands of other uses I’m sure. My hose nozzle had split at the head from use but otherwise was totally fine, hope this helps someone else.
Fixed my hose nozzle rather than replaced it using a drill, pliers, and a $0.79 cotter pin.
