I can give you 1008 miles of proof that it works.

I visited Dounreay Nuclear power plant as a school child 48 years ago. It stopped generating in 1994, yet it is still being decommissioned, with a workforce of 1,000+. So don't tell me that wind power curtailment is expensive, or about the landfill of benign, end of life, turbine blades.

@philsturgeon.com for clear cut forestry, are there any interventions that can speed up regeneration? BTW the second photo was a few miles away and had the full deer fence protection and with old and new woodland. These are north of the Highlands.

Unlike Camden who have put in lots of benches along a stretch of road. They are being used by people of all ages, and even the rich folk who have put up a horrid gate, couldn't stop the improvement to the public realm.

In this case, it's the icing on the cake of a great scheme of protected cycle lanes going up the hill. The number of people cycling has greatly increased, and the pedestrian experience is better with the level crossings and dutch kerbs providing protection from turning drivers.

Another benefit is that they are so much quieter. Even when lifting the bins, this bin lorry is quiet.

This is a more equivalent bridge - space for nice cycle and walking lanes, but actually used as parking for HGVs.

Compare those lovely underpasses with the UK under the M25, near South Mimms services. Although not directly comparable as this in a less populated area.

What could have been? If the UK financial services invested in the same way as Silicon Valley, we could be talking about using the latest Psion v35.

This would have been awful. The A102 in Leytonstone where I used to live, cut off the communities on each side.
