Check out his excellent book about late twentieth century European, American, Soviet / Russian and Chinese politics “Imperialism and The Revolution”. He tried to keep to a non-class-collaborationist line very late into the history of the revolutionary movement and helped identify reactionary tendencies in the various socialist counties of Eastern Europe, the Soviet Union and eventually China too.

Dutt proves fascism is not a cultural aberration, not a mass psychological breakdown. Fascism is not the rise of an exceptional movement, but monopoly capital’s organized response to systemic crisis — the deliberate destruction of democratic and labour institutions when those institutions can no longer contain working-class pressure. Fascism serves monopoly finance capital directly as the political response of the dictatorship of the bourgeois ruling class to extreme economic crises. Liberal social democracy is the enabler of fascism, not its opposite or a constraint on fascism. The only effective political response to fascism is not liberal anti-fascism but the establishment of a socialist dictatorship of the working class proletariat to contain and abolish the fascist forces of monopoly capitalism.

Dutt shows that a working class Marxist-Leninist socialist revolution is the only correct, effective, emancipatory and ultimately democratic political response to fascism.
