Reparations are overdue. International law needs to move beyond legal recognition of the wrongfulness of chattel enslavement and the trade in enslaved people, toward repair and remedy. The UN's recent resolution represents a step toward global racial justice. www.justsecurity.org/138316/beyon...

The Maryland Lynching Truth and Reconciliation Commission will hold a public hearing in Maryland on April 4th and 5th, 2025, as part of its ongoing effort to bring awareness to Maryland's history of racial violence and to foster reconciliation in the present.
